DSPD Services at Hive Supports
What Are DSPD Services?

DSPD, or the Division of Services for People with Disabilities, is a Utah state program under the Department of Health and Human Services. It provides Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) through Medicaid waivers for individuals with disabilities, including those with intellectual disabilities. These services aim to promote independence, community integration, and self-determined living. DSPD offers a range of supports, such as supported living, day services, respite care, behavior supports, and transportation, all tailored to the individual’s needs as outlined in their Person-Centered Support Plan (PCSP).

Eligibility for Our Services

Please note that all clients we serve must be approved for DSPD services before we can work with them. To be eligible, individuals must be Utah residents, U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, and have a diagnosed intellectual disability resulting in substantial functional limitations in three or more major life areas (e.g., self-care, communication, or mobility). The DSPD intake process involves submitting an application, providing documentation, and completing assessments within 90 days. To apply, visit the DSPD website or call 1-844-ASK-DSPD (1-844-275-3773) to speak with an intake worker.
